Amy Winehouse Died But Her Lyrics Live On

Soul singer and Jazz passionate Amy Winehouse has passed away in her South London apartment on Saturday afternoon due to a drug and alcohol overdose.

While the world mourns the lost of a talented singer and songwriter who left us at the young age of 27, here at Turbolyrics.net we figured that we would pay tribute to the Stronger Than Me singer with a compilation of some of her most exceptional songs accompanied by their dark and often sad lyrics.

Amy Winehouse who burst in the music scene in 2003 with her first CD Frank had a simple childhood growing up in the Southgate area that is located in the north of London with her Jewish parents Mitchell Winehouse and Janis Winehouse and older brother Alex – yet none of her songs have ever reflected her idyllic upbringing where she was apparently surrounded by loved ones who encouraged her to follow her talent for music – especially Jazz music.

Seeing that her adult life was mainly consumed by drug issues, problems with the law, public fights with ex husband Blake Fielder, outburst of anger in the middle of London and weight problems practically all of Amy Winehouse’s songs talked about being imprisoned by something or someone.

In her most popular song Rehab Amy Winehouse focused on being trapped by drugs, alcohol and lying to herself that everything was well and that she needed no help.

If the villains eating her alive were not illegal substances (cocaine, heroine or pot), it was a man who no longer loved her and who left her all alone to face her demons – something she brilliantly revealed in Back to Black and Tears Dry On Their Own.

Despite her success, Amy Winehouse let it be known that she was lonely, misunderstood, depressed and was self loathing according to You No I’m No Good.
