The Voice NBC TV Show

This evening NBC premiered their latest reality show called The Voice and if you are a fan of singing competitions such as American Idol, America’s Got Talent, or The Sing-Off – heck if you watch Glee religiously – then we are certain that you will like this series.
The Voice which features some very familiar faces on the judging panel -pop diva Christina Aguilera, “Forget You” singer Cee Lo Green, country star and soon-to-be husband of Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Maroon 5′s Adam Levine is very much like all of the other shows mentioned above – with few little twists.
First of all the auditions are blind, meaning that the judges have their backs turned away from the contestants whom they must solely judge/grade on their voices.
When an expert decides that he/she likes what he/she is hearing he/she can then turn around.
Secondly the celebrities have to compete and convince the talent to select them as their mentor and join their team who will eventually be competing against one another.
Despite having a few original elements, the show provides us with the same teary-eyed stories that we have heard before, while host Carson Daly tells jokes that we have heard before not to mention that we are forced to listen to a new cover of a famous song that we have heard over a million times before.
Despite the endless cliches that surfaced during the first episode, the series was able to provide us with new talents which are Beverly McClellan, Elenowen, Frenchie Davis, Javier Colon, Jeff Jenkins, Kelsey Rey, Patrick Thomas, Rebecca Loebe, Tarralyn Ramsey, Tje Austin, Vicci Martinez and Xenia.
It is not the best show on TV, but for a music lover it will do for the time being.
